About us:
MEDLIFE is a non-profit organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development projects. Our mission is to build a worldwide Movement empowering the poor in their fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and a safe home. Our vision is a world free from the constraints of poverty. MEDLIFE works with students from around the world in order to broaden their perspectives and better equip them to advocate for social justice.
Our ideal Talent Development Team Lead:
We're looking for a hands-on, mission-driven people leader who is eager to learn and to build. You work side by side with team leads on feedback, follow-up, clear KPIs and development plans for their teams. You learn how an organization works, propose improvements and make them happen rather than waiting for direction. You lead your team with clear standards and accountability, and you develop each person on it. Above all, you bring MEDLIFE's values: FIRE (energy, urgency and ownership of results), GROWTH (curiosity, openness to feedback and constant learning) and IMPECCABLE CHARACTER (integrity, consistency and discretion with sensitive information). As we continue growing, we'd love for you to be part of the MEDLIFE Movement.
About the role:
You will build MEDLIFE's leaders, culture and performance system, so every team has clear KPIs, regular feedback and development plans, and our leaders grow from within. Your main focus will be helping team leads give feedback, follow up with their teams, set clear KPIs and build development plans for their people. You will also lead the Talent Development team, which includes Talent Acquisition and People Administration, so those areas deliver on their goals. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will design and personally run our core talent programs, supported by a part-time administrative assistant. You will report directly to MEDLIFE's Founder and work closely with the Leadership team and team leads across all departments.
What will your day-to-day look like at MEDLIFE?
- Work side by side with team leads on giving direct feedback, running regular 1:1s, following up with their teams and holding hard conversations.
- Build and facilitate our Leadership Development Program, and agree a development plan with each team lead.
- Help every team lead define 3 to 4 clear KPIs and a weekly scorecard, and review them regularly with each lead.
- Make sure every employee has a role scorecard, clear goals and a development plan, and run performance review cycles hands-on with team leads.
- Bring MEDLIFE's values to life: run recognition programs (including our monthly Level Win meeting), behavior assessments and team-building initiatives.
- Run engagement and climate surveys end to end, from design to results, and lead the action plans.
- Identify skill gaps and own our training framework (Core MEDLIFE, Sales and Leadership development).
- Run 360 feedback, quarterly talent reviews and succession planning for critical leadership roles.
- Lead, coach and develop the Talent Acquisition and People Administration team, setting the area's KPIs and weekly scorecard.
- Learn our current people processes, document the key ones as simple SOPs, and put improvements into practice.
What will you bring?
- 4+ years of experience in HR, Talent Development or Organizational Development, with real experience leading people or coordinating other leaders.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field.
- Hands-on execution, not only design: you have personally built and facilitated trainings, run review cycles, created scorecards or rubrics, and presented results.
- Experience developing leaders: coaching managers or team leads to give direct feedback, run 1:1s, follow up with their teams and hold difficult conversations.
- Practical experience in performance management (goal setting, role scorecards, review cycles, correction plans) and/or Learning & Development (skills-gap analysis, onboarding, leadership training), with working knowledge of the other.
- Experience running culture, values, recognition or engagement initiatives and turning results into concrete action plans.
- Experience setting clear expectations and KPIs, running 1:1s and holding people accountable for results.
- A KPI and data mindset: you define simple metrics, track them consistently and use evidence to make decisions.
- Process improvement: you learn how work is done today, document it, propose improvements and put them into practice.
- Practical use of generative AI to build training content and automate HR reporting.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, HubSpot, an ATS (e.g., Hiring Room) and HR tools (performance management, survey platforms, LMS).
- Advanced English and Spanish.
Nice to have:
- Experience in non-profit or mission-driven organizations.
- Experience in multi-country or fast-growing organizations.
- Experience designing or facilitating a leadership development program.
- Exposure to succession planning, talent reviews, or compensation and benefits.
- Knowledge of labor regulations in Latin America (Peru is a plus).
What do we offer you?
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm (Peru time, GMT-5).
- Flexible work model: hybrid for candidates based in Lima, Peru, and remote for candidates based in other countries.
- Competitive salary commensurate with the role.
- Birthday day off.
- Growth opportunities in a fast-growing, multi-country organization.
- Mission-driven work: the chance to shape the people system that helps MEDLIFE serve more students and communities.
Please note: We welcome applications from candidates across Latin America. We are grateful to all interested candidates, but only those chosen for an interview will be contacted.
