About the Job
About us:
MEDLIFE is a non-profit organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development projects. Our mission is to build a worldwide Movement empowering the poor in their fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and a safe home. Our vision is a world free from the constraints of poverty. MEDLIFE works with students from around the world in order to broaden their perspectives and better equip them to advocate for social justice.

Our ideal Talent Development Team Lead:
We're looking for a strategic, mission-driven HR leader who owns outcomes end to end and loves rolling up their sleeves. You are a player-coach: you set the direction for MEDLIFE's people system and personally build and run the programs behind it, from culture and climate to Learning & Development, performance management and succession. You have done this before in real organizations and know how to turn good ideas into simple, measurable systems. You lead your team with clear standards, high accountability and genuine care for each person's growth. You bring the strategy rather than wait for direction, you're open to feedback, and above all, you live MEDLIFE's values in how you work and lead. As we continue growing, we'd love for you to be part of the MEDLIFE Movement.

About the role:
You will lead MEDLIFE's Talent Development area so the organization attracts, develops and keeps people who deliver results and live our values, and so our leaders grow from within. You will own the strategy and results of our people system (culture and climate, Learning & Development, performance management, succession and rewards) and lead the Talent Acquisition and People Administration functions, setting the KPIs, processes and scorecards the area is accountable for. This is a hands-on leadership role: beyond leading the team, you will design and personally run our core talent programs, supported by a part-time administrative assistant. You will report to MEDLIFE leadership and work closely with leaders and hiring managers across all departments.

What will your day-to-day look like at MEDLIFE?
  • Lead, coach and develop the Talent Development team (Talent Acquisition, People Administration and future hires) through regular 1:1s and team reviews.
  • Build the area's KPIs and weekly scorecard, and own the results, mainly in Talent Acquisition and People Administration.
  • Document the area's key processes as SOPs, measure them and improve the point where work gets stuck.
  • Bring MEDLIFE's values to life: run behavior assessments, recognition programs (including our monthly Level Win meeting) and team-building initiatives.
  • Run engagement and climate surveys end to end: design, launch, analysis, presentation of results and action plans.
  • Own our training framework (Core MEDLIFE, Sales and Leadership): identify skill gaps, build content with internal experts and facilitate sessions, including the Leadership Development Program.
  • Run performance management cycles hands-on: role scorecards, goal setting, reviews, 360 feedback and time-bound correction plans.
  • Lead succession planning: identify high-potential talent with evidence-based criteria, hold readiness conversations, assign stretch assignments and keep the succession map current.
  • Coach managers on direct feedback, hard conversations and fair, documented and humane exits.
  • Design compensation bands and benefits based on market benchmarking, and run the quarterly talent review with leadership.
  • Oversee people administration and labor compliance, and advise leadership on workforce planning and organizational design.

What will you bring?
  • 5+ years of experience in HR or Talent Development, including at least 2 years leading a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience executing, not only designing: building and facilitating trainings, running review cycles, creating rubrics and scorecards, and analyzing and presenting survey results.
  • Proven track record implementing culture and values programs, recognition programs, and engagement or climate surveys with action plans.
  • Proven experience designing and running performance management systems: role scorecards, goal setting, review cycles, 360 feedback and correction plans.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering Learning & Development programs: skills-gap analysis, onboarding and core training, leadership development, mentoring and measuring training effectiveness.
  • Experience leading and developing an HR team: setting KPIs and scorecards, running 1:1s and holding people accountable for results.
  • A macro understanding of the HR function: talent acquisition, people administration and labor compliance, compensation and benefits, workforce planning and offboarding.
  • Experience writing SOPs, improving processes and choosing metrics that guide decisions.
  • Data-driven mindset and experience working with senior leadership to align HR priorities with business strategy.
  • Practical use of generative AI to build training content and automate HR reporting.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, HubSpot, an ATS (e.g., Hiring Room) and HR tools (performance management, survey platforms, LMS).
  • Advanced level of English and Spanish.

Nice to have:
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Experience in multi-country or fast-growing organizations.
  • Knowledge of Peruvian labor regulations.

What do we offer you?
  • Hybrid work model, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Full-time position with a competitive salary commensurate with the role.
  • Benefits according to Peruvian laws & regulations, plus Private Health Insurance (EPS 100%).
  • Birthday day off.
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-growing, multi-country organization.
  • Mission-driven work: the chance to shape the people system that helps MEDLIFE serve more students and communities.

Please note: We are grateful to all interested candidates, but only those chosen for an interview will be contacted.
